HILLTOP TREE EVENT, Feb 17, 2024
The Tacoma Tree Foundation teamed up with the Shalom Project for a tree give-away on the Hilltop. This event, hosted at Peace Lutheran Church, brought together volunteers from TTF, Peace, and St. Mark's to offer free trees to Hilltop neighbors. After a tree-planting demonstration and the planting of five trees around one of Peace's homes, the first hour of the give-away was dedicated to local Hilltop residents and people of color. After that, the event was opened to the public. Altogether, 129 trees were added to the Hilltop's tree canopy!
